Driving Dreams? Add Some Wheels!

Here's a page I did with my new Wheels & Circles of Spring Kit, about our Spring rituals on the farm. The Journaling reads:

"When Spring would come in our neck of the woods, it was a BIG event. All of a sudden, there were so many things to do! Inevitably, we would all get new stuff that fit the season perfectly: a new pair of sneakers – but only to use on the dry ground, not in the mud – a brand new rubber ball – the white-blue-red variety – a skipping rope, and marbles!

I loved marbles more than anything because they contained the mysteries of the universe. How could those swirly shapes get to fit so perfectly in a round solid shape... that was see-through! Not one was the same as the other, and the colours were endless. I also learned how to ride a bicycle in the springtime. I fell over so many times my knees never healed.

As I rode that bike down the road, straight for the first time, I remember thinking that now... I was grown-up! A major shift had occurred in my perception of my own freedom and independence. I could walk to my destination, but wheels, they would get me there faster!”

I have to share...

I received it in a letter a few years ago, and as I was re-reading it just now, it struck me that it is a wisdom I need to remind myself over and over. Life is precious, and yes, oh so very disposable, from nature's point of view. For, you see, Nature is not judgmental nor prejudiced, but indifferent and consequential only. Thanks for reminding me of that, my dearest daughter.

"We really feel the world is ours and life is now - but that's a one-sided perspective of the world. Really, life has been here for millions of years and billions have reached the end of their lease too - and when they were alive they thought their lives were the be-all-end-all also. The only reason humans don't see themselves as disposable is because of the survival instinct. We place SO much importance on ourselves, it's almost delusional."

Earth Colours in Dreams

My Heart Drum

Journaling:
Sometimes I go for a walk in the bush, and I bring my drum. When the sound from her echoes off the gum trees, I feel that I am back in the Acadian forest where this drum was born. She came to me as I was embarking upon a new life, somewhat like now...

I sing upon her a song from my heart and from my soul. I beat my drum and soon, she too is beating her song upon my heart. She sings of Love and patience for others. She teaches me that peace always comes from within.

This dream predicted what I was going to do in a few weeks after it came to me. I often have very vivid and colourful dreams. This was certainly one of them. The Journaling reads:
I dreamed I was at a Gate. A Snake and a caterpillar appeared at my feet. They led me through the Gate... I was to start a brand-new life in another land. My dream told me. The Gate was a bright
orange-red, as was the Caterpillar. The Snake was Yellow.

All items on this page are by me, Ramona Memories. Background paper is the forum Challenge freebie, but I placed a yellow paper behind it, and blended the top one to it using the Darken Mode. Strips of paint in the background, the word "Dream," the snake/dream symbols, and the splatter of colours on the page are all from my new kit, Gestation, coming out soon. The page from the vintage book, the butterfly, and the brackets are all from the freebie, the Dream Artist Challenge. The journaling paper is from my Initiation kit, recoloured. Font is Scribbledy Dibbledy by Rachael's Scraps. The quote is my own. :)
